Otis Books is a project of the MFA Writing program at Otis College of  Art and Design in Los Angeles. We publish book-length contemporary fiction,  non-fiction, and poetry, with particular interests in translation and writing from and about Los Angeles. MFA Writing students are involved in all aspects of the press' activities, from selecting and editing manuscripts to designing and typesetting books managing production and getting our titles out there in the world.

While simultaneous  submissions are acceptable, we ask that you notify us if your work is  accepted elsewhere.

PLEASE NOTE: If your work contains copyrighted materials that  exceed what would be considered fair use, we expect that you will have  contacted the rights owners to inquire about the use thereof and any  fees associated with it.

If your manuscript is chosen, we will contact you via email, and  will announce all of our selections on our website and Facebook page  (links below) at the new year.
